The ST140 takes the same approach to a larger scale: 2,500 kg, a 1,400 mm opening and up to 90 tonnes of cylinder force on 20-35 tonne carriers. The opening in particular is a step change rather than an increment, and it is what makes the attachment viable on mature plantation and native stumps that the mid-size shear cannot engage.
As with all attachment-based work, the carrier is the constraint rather than the attachment. A 2,500 kg shear held at reach on uneven ground is a substantial demand on the lift chart, and the published carrier class is the beginning of that check rather than the end of it.

The carrier requirement is part of the true cost. Moving from a 12-20 tonne to a 20-35 tonne carrier changes capital, transport and operating cost across the whole combination, and that belongs in the comparison rather than the attachment price alone.
Blade, pivot and cylinder wear scale with material density and soil contact. Hard, rocky sites work the attachment in ways that show up as maintenance rather than as a production shortfall.

Flow and working pressure must be sustained by the carrier's auxiliary circuit, not peaked to. This is a separate check from weight and lift.
Measure stump diameter at ground level across representative ground. If most stumps fall inside a mid-size shear's opening, the larger attachment is capability carried and seldom used.
