Statistics and government

Market size, plantation area, log availability projections and regional structure. These are the primary sources — where a figure on this site differs from the current release, the current release is correct.

  • Australian forest and wood products statistics

    ABARES, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

    The biannual national dataset for log harvest volume and value. ABARES revises figures between editions and reports several different measurement bases, so always check the edition and the basis before quoting a number.

  • Every specification on this site is drawn from publicly published manufacturer or distributor information. None of it is measured, tested or independently validated here.
  • Where a manufacturer publishes both a maximum capacity and a recommended production range, both are shown. Where only a maximum is published, the field is left visibly empty rather than estimated — the gap is itself commercially useful information.
  • Price examples are individual advertised asking prices observed in the Australian and regional used market. They are illustrations of how widely condition, hours and configuration move value. They are not valuations, market averages or offers.
  • Cost models — depreciation per hour, cost per cubic metre, cost per hectare, break-even utilisation — are worked arithmetic using the inputs you supply. They are commercial models, not quotations.
